Uganda’s Female MPs Want Rapists To Be Hanged
Ugandan female MPs represented by Soroti district woman MP Anne Adeke Ebaju want government to create a sexual offenders register which will contain all the names of those people who have engaged in sexual offenses.
They also want those found guilty of rape to be hanged.
This is contained in her sexual offensive bill 2024 which is under scrutiny by the parliament’s committee on legal and parliamentary affairs.
While appearing before the above committee chaired by Steven Baka Mugabi to give more light on her bill, Anne Adeke told the committee that if the register is put in place and made public it will be easy for people to know how to deal with those people whose names appear in that register.
MP Allan Mayanjja Ssebunya opposed the provision noting that there are some people who can be falsely accused to have sexually abused some people and so it could be wrong to put their names in that register.
In the bill Anne Adeke and women MP want all men who rape women and dose who defile children to be subjected to a death penalty.
But west Budama north east told the committee that he doesn’t support the issue of a death penalty noting that if someone is subjected to a death penalty he won’t receive the punishment of what he committed.
Debate on the bill will continue next week and Erotic Uganda will have all the information you need.
