Sex Worker Drama Leads to Housewife Death

A man in Mitooma district, in western Uganda is in custody following the alleged murder of his wife during a bar fight on Thursday.

The fight started after his wife found him in a bar drinking beers with a sex worker.
The incident reportedly happened at around 8:30 PM in Burambika village, Kashasha parish, in Mitooma district.

Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for police in the area told the media that the deceased is identified as Aidah Kyarikunda 45, who was a resident of Kihungye village in Kashasha parish.The suspect has been named as Jackson Mwebesa, 48, who resides in the same area.

According to reports, Kyarikunda had left home to attend prayers and returned in evening. She subsequently went to a village bar where he found her husband drinking beers with a sex worker while fondling her..

It is alleged that she complained to Mwebesa, who instead confronted her and struck her with a punch and a kick causing her to fall and hit her head on a hard surface.

Witnesses attempted to arrange transport to take her to a nearby health center but she was motionless by the time help was mobilized.

Annah Bushoboroza, the area Internal Security Officer stated that the couple had a history of domestic disputes particularly whenever the wife found her husband with exotic escorts.
